I started lobbying efforts in California 2002. Watching them the last 22 years has been hard on the eyes. So embarrassing and political corrupt.

The likely political corruption surrounding Berkshire Hathaway Energy subsidiary PacifiCorp is particularly significant. PacifiCorp's actions appear to be focused on substituting highly-polluting Wyoming coal-fired generation for pollution-free nuclear power, such as provided by Diablo Canyon Power Plant in California, Columbia Nuclear Generating Station in Washington, and Palo Verde Generating Station in Arizona.

Colorado’s Green New Deal Governor and legislature look to California for inspirational energy ideas.

I look to California and its treasure trove of bad energy policy to see what is likely to come to my state soon.

This is an extraordinarily stupid idea, even for the Golden State.

Subsidize high electriciy and punish electricity conservation.

Brilliant.

Equality, Comrades!

The stupidity seems to know no bounds in the People's Republik of Kalifornia!

As a CPUC Intervenor, CGNP agrees with the concerns you raise in this analysis. Per the California Constitution, the CPUC is the trier of fact for all legal disputes involving public utilities. We hold there is a conflict of interest when those regulated entities may directly lobby the CPUC. Watch out for what is in the pipeline in 2025. Special interests want to indirectly increase the already-substantial use of coal-fired imports for California via actions before the federal regulator known as the Western Interstate Electricity Board (WIEB.) And those special interests are aggressively lobbying California decision makers. https://greennuke.substack.com/p/filing-error-cough-in-pacificorps BTW, one of the special interests, PacifiCorp, a utility that gets most of its power from coal-fired generators in and near Wyoming still shows a false general lobbying total of ZERO for its first-quarter 2024 lobbying total outlay. (Actually, it outspent the usual Number 1 lobbyist, WSPA by well over $200K.
